As mobile devices become the norm, it was imperative to craft a user experience tailored for smartphones, streamlining registration and order creation processes.
Technical Integration
Beyond the demand for agile, scalable, and maintainable code, the project required meticulous integration with numerous systems within GLS's infrastructure and liaising with various payment providers.
Our pursuit commenced with a rigorous investigation, post which we orchestrated a design sprint workshop involving key stakeholders from the GLS team. The workshop's essence was twofold: pinpoint avenues to enrich “paket.hr” and subsequently, validate these enhancements with its existing user base.
The ensuing two-day session culminated in the generation of a clickable prototype. User testing shed light on invaluable feedback, accentuating user concerns and friction points. In tandem with the established business objectives, the design underwent pivotal iterations. The silver lining was a comprehensive forecast detailing both the financial implications and the envisaged timeline.
Previously, GLS Admins grappled with dependencies, often seeking developer intervention for seemingly trivial content modifications. Recognizing this inefficiency, our solution pivoted to a content management system (CMS), endowing the admin team with greater autonomy. This proactive shift not only expedited content amendments but also ushered in capabilities to tweak pricing structures, modify shipping zones, and adjust operational days system-wide.
One of the cardinal business expectations centered around efficient report generation. Understanding the intricate requirements, we devised a role-specific data extraction model. Users can now, depending on their role, cherry-pick from an array of 40 unique data sets, all exportable within a user-specified timeframe, culminating in a convenient xlsx. file format.
Riding on the coattails of their industry leadership, GLS had pioneered the pick-and-ship model, originally catering to business clientele via partner shops and parcel lockers. Entrusted with this flagship feature, our team embarked on assimilating it within “paket.hr”. Our strategy crystallized in the creation of API routes, facilitating seamless communication between partner outlets, parcel lockers, and the platform. This integration ensured real-time confirmation and relayed security codes pivotal for parcel transactions.
